The Challenge

The Rye Park Wind Farm is a major renewable energy development in New South Wales requiring new transmission infrastructure to connect generation into the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Once operational, the wind farm will comprise 66 turbines with a maximum generation capacity of 396MW.

The project is expected to generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 215,000 homes while reducing carbon emissions by almost 1 million tonnes annually.

The Genus Approach

Genus is delivering the project’s 330kV transmission line infrastructure in partnership with Zenviron.

The works support connection of the wind farm into the National Electricity Market and demonstrate Genus’ capability in delivering renewable energy transmission infrastructure.

Tilt Renewables forms part of Powering Australian Renewables (PowAR), one of Australia’s largest owners and developers of renewable generation and storage assets.

Delivery in action

The scope includes:

  • Design and construction of the 330kV transmission line
  • Delivery of network connection infrastructure linking the wind farm to the National Electricity Market
  • Transmission infrastructure supporting renewable energy integration
The outcome

Project ongoing.

Once complete, Rye Park Wind Farm will deliver 396MW of renewable generation capacity, supplying enough clean energy for approximately 215,000 homes and reducing emissions by almost 1 million tonnes per year.
