Genus was engaged to deliver transmission infrastructure connecting the existing West Angelas 220/33kV Substation to the West Angelas Power Station.
The project required fabrication, supply and installation of a new single-circuit 220kV transmission line, together with associated civil, structural and electrical infrastructure.
The project environment was complex, with multiple work fronts operating simultaneously within close proximity to the transmission corridor, requiring daily coordination across stakeholders and project teams.
Environmental requirements also formed a key component of delivery, including rehabilitation works and management of access infrastructure.
Genus was engaged to undertake the fabrication, supply and installation of approximately 1.2 kilometres of single-circuit 220kV transmission line infrastructure.
The transmission line connected the existing terminal tower at the West Angelas 220/33kV Substation to the landing gantry at the West Angelas Power Station.
The project integrated civil construction, tower installation, electrical infrastructure and environmental rehabilitation works.
Genus delivered transmission infrastructure works including foundations, access infrastructure and electrical installation activities.
The scope includes:
Disciplines employed included:
The project required daily coordination across multiple interfaces due to concurrent works occurring near the transmission corridor.
The project was successfully completed on schedule.
The completed infrastructure supports power transfer between the West Angelas 220/33kV Substation and the West Angelas Power Station, while rehabilitation activities ensured environmental requirements were met.
