HumeLink is one of New South Wales’ largest energy infrastructure projects and forms part of the transmission infrastructure required to support Australia’s transition to a lower carbon future.
The project will connect Wagga Wagga, Bannaby and Maragle and includes new and upgraded infrastructure across four substation locations.
As a project of national significance, HumeLink will contribute to Australia meeting future energy demand through increased integration of low-emission renewable energy sources.
The project is designed to deliver a more affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity grid, increasing the capacity for renewable energy to be transmitted across the National Electricity Market.
The project remains subject to approval by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).
Genus, in joint venture with ACCIONA, was awarded the contract by Transgrid to deliver the HumeLink Transmission Project.
The total contract value is approximately $1.4 billion, with part of the contract based on a target cost model.
The project is being delivered through the joint venture structure comprising:
The project leverages the combined capability of both organisations across major transmission infrastructure delivery.

The joint venture will deliver major transmissioninfrastructure works associated with the HumeLink development.
The scope includes:
The project draws on capabilities across transmission infrastructure and substation delivery.
