Project Overview
Genus has been engaged by Birdwood Energy as the EPC Contractor to deliver the 400 MW / 1,800 MWh Baranduda Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), located approximately 10 kilometres south-east of Wodonga, Victoria.
The Baranduda Electrical Energy Reserve Project is a significant renewable energy infrastructure project that will provide large-scale energy storage capacity and support the reliability and stability of Victoria’s electricity network.
The project scope includes:
A 400 MW / 1,800 MWh Battery Energy Storage System
Substation and switching infrastructure
Operations and maintenance facilities
A 228-metre overhead powerline connection to Wodonga Terminal Station
Associated enabling and site infrastructure
